Your 2008 Out 100 host: Chelsea Handler

This just in! Chelsea Handler will host the 2008 Out 100 gala! No stranger to the gays, the delectably improper comedian donated $5,000 to defeating Prop 8 and recently hosted a "gay day" on her popular E! talk show, Chelsea Lately, which featured gay comics Scott Thompson and Guy Branum as well as Out fave Semi Precious Weapons singer and self proclaimed "narcissexual" Justin Tranter:

It's anyone's guess as to what Chelsea will have to say to a room full of some of the most famous and influential gay men and women in the country come November 14 -- first she has to get them to stop drinking and gossiping long enough to hear her -- but you can rest assured it'll be hilarious and biting. And she won't being pulling any punches -- just the way we want (and love) her.

For our third and final Gaybies Award, we're going wayyyyy back. Back to elementary school.

We need your help determining the Gayest Person Ever!

By gay we mean gay in the third grade way, of course.

And by Ever! we mean from cavemen through the American Revolution and up to the very moment you've read this.

And by legal disclaimers we mean gay as an adjective meaning happy or queer or silly or ridiculous, of course.

And by your help we just mean go vote! And then go vote again!

Like any mocking, online cousin to serious awards worth its salt, we've decided next to honor that rarefied species among the stars: The Celebretarian.

Celebretarians are not content to let the world's sad little people (the un-famous, not those who are genetically short of stature) suffer in silence. They must find the darkest corners of the world and expose evil! They must save us from ourselves!

Or at the very least they're going to die trying, or cause us to die laughing so hard as they're trying.

We are proud to present the second of this year's Gaybies Awards (formerly known as the BreakOut Awards):

The E for Effort Award for the Best Celebretarian.
